Most balls are two halves glued together, which is why most balls crack along the equator after a month of Hyderabad sun. Ours is moulded in a single piece from UV-stabilised resin and drilled with 40 holes in a pattern we tuned on outdoor courts through a Deccan summer. It holds a true bounce between 78 and 84 cm, and it holds its colour.

Full policyAlmost every outdoor ball is two moulded halves bonded at the middle, and almost every outdoor ball fails along that bond. This one is rotationally moulded in a single piece, so the join that usually splits does not exist to split.

UV-stabilised resin, not pigment sprayed onto a finished shell. Hyderabad sun takes the colour out of an ordinary ball in a season and takes the resin with it — it goes chalky, then brittle, then it cracks.
78 to 84cm from a 1.83m drop, which is the window the game is actually refereed to. A ball outside it plays differently at the end of a match than at the start, and you spend the third game adjusting to your own equipment.

Not like a surface-pigmented ball which loses its colour and its structure together: once the sun has bleached the shell it has already begun to embrittle it. Putting the stabiliser through the material means the last game with the ball plays like the first.
